When discussing a chiropractic adjustment the most important thing to keep in mind is the term "function".  Chiropractor's emphasize the importance of joint function, if a joint is functioning at 100% then we know we have 100% of joint health.  With athletes this is even more important due to the increased loads or stress put on their muscles and joints.  Chiropractic is a great way to help get a joint to move, and therefore function, better.  Results are greatly improved with an athlete if  the surrounding musculature is addressed as well.
